Reigning Male Vocalist of the Year Keith Urban had three
nominations for Entertainer, Male Vocalist and Album of the Year
for Love, Pain & the whole crazy thing, which he co-produced
with Dann Huff, who is a Musician of the Year nominee.
Songwriters Dave Berg, Deanna Bryant and Sarah Buxton also

We need all of you to think to yourselves "what could I stand in front
of to let people know the city I live in?" It can be a tourist
attraction, a historical landmark, a famous sports arena, a highway sign
that says "Welcome to _____!" Be creative and make sure whatever is in
the background is obviously somewhere important that concert goers would
recognize. And of course, make sure we can see your arm and hand waving
up and down in the wind just like Keith's in the music video!
The best videos we receive will be shown on the big screen during
Keith's live concerts! Make sure the video is clear, steady, has a very
recognizable city background and your hand waving like Keith's.

The 49th Annual Grammy Awards, which will
take in Los Angeles at the Staples Center on Sunday, Februry 11, 2007, will
be hosted by Stephen Colbert and broadcast nationwide on CBS at 8PM ET.

KEITH Urban’s critically acclaimed fourth
studio album, Love, Pain and the Whole Crazy Thing, has debuted at #1 on
Billboard’s American Country Album chart and #3 on the mainstream album
chart.
In Australia, the album debuted at #1 on the ARIA (Australian Recording
Industry Association) Country Chart and at #5 on the mainstream albums
chart.
Capitol Records Nashville’s Bill Kennedy said the fan support for Love, Pain
and the Whole Crazy Thing has been tremendous, as first week sales figures
reflected.
“This, along with Keith's third consecutive (Country Music Association,
America) Male Vocalist of the Year Award and the #1 position for the most
downloaded album at iTunes, underscores Keith's very solid place in the
country music world.”
Co-produced by Keith with Dann Huff, the new album has received wide
critical praise.
“So far, Keith Urban shows no signs of running out of exhilarating ways to
declare life is grand, or finding dizzyingly uplifting guitar riffs that
echo that sentiment,” an AAP reviewer said of the disc.
Billboard said: “Few artists have the vision to see that country music isn't
simply defined by fiddles and steel guitar (although this album has both),
and even fewer have the talent to fulfill that vision. Urban does.”
The first single from Love, Pain & The Whole Crazy Thing, Once In A
Lifetime, made chart history by debuting at #17 on the Billboard Hot Country
Song Chart. It marked the highest debuting single in the 62-year history of
that chart. The album's second single, Stupid Boy, was released to radio
this week.
Following Keith’s voluntary admission to the Betty Ford Clinic, a Tamworth
fan emailed Keith’s website with a message of support and encouragement. She
was delighted to receive a reply within 24 hours.

Catherine Britt told audiences listening to the Gerry House radio program in
Nashville this week that fellow Australian and Male Artist of the last 2
years, Keith Urban guests on her new single. Keith features on guitar -
playing a great guitar solo. Keith, who calls Catherine his "little sister",
has always supported her career and was very excited to be able to add his
talents to her single. The song received very positive feedback from Gerry
and listeners who rang in during her 45min interview segment.
Chicago radio has also given the single the thumbs up when Catherine
previewed it to them this week.

months doing a film for Baz Luhrmann. Lets hope Keith will be regular

rehab, nixes Mohegan Sun gig

Country star Keith Urban checked out of his sold-out show at the Mohegan Sun
casino in Connecticut last night - and checked into rehab with his wife
Nicole Kidman at his side. “I deeply regret the hurt this has caused Nicole
and the ones that love and support me,” Urban said in a statement issued by
his rep.
Urban, who turns 39 on Thursday, has acknowledged a past addiction to
cocaine, but his publicist said the Australian country star was currently
being treated for alcohol abuse.
“One can never let one’s guard down on recovery, and I’m afraid that I
have,” Urban’s statement said. “With the strength and unwavering support I
am blessed to have from my wife, family and friends, I am determined and
resolved to a positive outcome.”
The multiplatinum star was supposed to kick off festivities this evening at
Mohegan Sun’s 10th anniversary celebration. Organizers of the star-studded
shindig, which will feature performances by Jerry Seinfeld, Kevin Costner,
the Barenaked Ladies and Lily Tomlin, were alerted last night that Urban
would not be able to perform.
“Our thoughts are with Keith and his family, and we look forward to his
return to Mohegan Sun,” said Mitchell Etess, CEO of the Uncasville casino.
Urban, who has performed twice before at the casino, was slated to be
inducted into the Mohegan Walk of Fame. The singer’s band was unaware of the
rehab stint when members arrived at the casino today in preparation for
tonight’s show.
Urban also will likely cancel a scheduled appearance at the Country Music
Association awards next month, his publicist said. Urban’s new CD, “Love,
Pain, & the whole crazy thing,” will be released Nov. 7 as scheduled, but he
will postpone all upcoming promotional appearances.

Urban enters rehab, cancels CMA and album appearances

Weeks before the release of an album that could cement his place as an
international superstar, Keith Urban checked himself into a rehabilitation
center Thursday night, with his wife of four months, Nicole Kidman, by his
side.
"I deeply regret the hurt this has caused Nicole and the ones that love and
support me," Urban said in a statement released by a representative. "One
can never let one's guard down on recovery, and I'm afraid that I have."
Urban has been upfront about past struggles with drugs and alcohol,
including a 1998 stay at Nashville-area treatment center Cumberland Heights.
The Country Music Association's reigning entertainer and male vocalist of
the year, Urban is nominated for four trophies at this year's Nov. 6 CMA
Awards. He was originally scheduled to appear during the show but has
cancelled that and all appearances related to the release of his new album.
Love, Pain & the whole crazy thing is due in stores Nov. 7, and a
representative confirmed Friday that the release date will not be postponed.
Urban's single "Once In A Lifetime" is in the Top 10 of Billboard's Hot
Country singles chart.
"All of us who are close to Keith totally respect his decision and support
him 100 percent," said Dann Huff, Urban's producer and friend. "Without
going into detail, he has been very forthright with all of his close
friends."
This year, Urban won a Grammy Award for best country male vocal performance,
won his second straight top male vocalist prize from the Academy of Country
Music, recorded an album and married movie star Kidman. He didn't play many
tour dates in the U.S., but industry experts, including Ray Waddell of
Billboard magazine predicted that his 2007 tour earnings would probably mark
him as one of the nation's top concert draws.
Raised in Australia, Urban is among country music's best-known international
ambassadors. His rise has not come without stumbles, and last year Urban
talked to The Tennessean about his past struggles with cocaine. He described
a time in the late 1990s when he crawled around the floor of a Nashville
drug house, looking for traces of the substance.
"I think anybody that gets into using drugs and stuff thinks they can handle
it," he said then. "Obviously, you have some sense that you're in control."
Urban's representative said that some shows will be cancelled during Urban's
recovery and that there is no specific time line for getting back on the
road. "However long it takes is what it will take," the representative said.
"Everybody around him is showing him love and support."

They drew a crowd of interested onlookers as Keith and his band rocked at
the end of a small pier, performing
the song with the city skyline and the Golden Gate Bridge in the background.
The band was joined by young Australian star Jedd Hughes on mandolin.
